The Transformative Consciousness Team

Meet Our Team

  • Dr. Trish DeRocher

    FOUNDER

Dr. Trish DeRocher (they/she) is a teacher, author, podcaster, and former academic turned energy worker.

In this lifetime Trish finds expression as a white, non-binary, queer, anti-racist educator, bridge-builder, frequency worker, and spiritual activist. Amongst other hats, Trish has completed trainings and certifications in Bhakti Yoga, Inner Alignment Coaching, Ayurveda, Biofield Tuning, Druidry, herbalism, Radical Dharma, and Somatic Abolitionism.

Trish is a firm believer that more equitable futures are possible only when we are each committed to realizing, and to helping each other become, our own best selves; when we transform sources of vulnerability into sources of strength; and when we plant the seeds of a more just world through our daily actions and relationships.

  • Holland Beckens

    SPIRITUAL SOMATICS COACH

In this lifetime, Holland (she/her) expresses herself as a dreamer, a lover of beauty and play, a dancer, a listener, a forever student, a lover of plants and animals with an insatiable curiosity for life.

She hails from a white, lower-class, farming, and christian upbringing in what is now known as Western New York. Growing up on a farm, she spent a lot of time outside observing the natural rhythms and quirks of nature that has led her to explore those aspects in greater depth as an “adult”. Currently, she loves playing with herbs, dipping her toes into the vast ocean that is Ayurveda, and studying occult and esoteric principles.

Holland believes in balance, justice, self sovereignty, and the absolute necessity for darkness. She approaches this work with a light heartedness and sense of curiosity and empathy as she explores uncomfortable places with clients.

Recognizing that each person she meets holds a mirror to herself, she is eternally grateful to be doing this work alongside incredible humans.

  • Jessica Churchill

    SPIRITUAL SOMATICS COACH

Jessica (she/they) was born into a white, middle class, Pentecostal family in Northwestern Vermont.

Jessica followed in the expectations of the church community and married at the age of 23 becoming the mother of seven children in the next 7 years. Jessica began to experience panic attacks in 2012 and started to question her lifelong practice of conservative Christianity. She left the church in 2015 to begin setting boundaries and creating space for herself in her own life.

While homeschooling her children, Jessica studied herbalism and aromatherapy. Jessica worked for several years as an herbalist and manager at Railyard Apothecary in Burlington, VT. In 2020 she was diagnosed with stage 2b breast cancer and received treatment in the first half of 2021. Shortly before her diagnosis she began working with Trish. Jessica also studies mediumship and is Reiki II attuned.

Jessica comes to this work with a capacity and comfort in holding space for difficult situations and an understanding that our darkness is an important part of our spiritual journeys, not something to be avoided, but rather walked through and held in love.

  • Lisa Lord

    SPIRITUAL SOMATICS COACH

Lisa (she/her) came to this work as part of her journey to reconnect with her emotions and body after decades of navigating life with an inadequate emotional vocabulary, attempting to cope through dissociation and compartmentalization, and self-medicating with alcohol and other substances.

She credits this work with allowing her to more deeply experience the full spectrum of emotions, enjoy a richer connection with loved ones, and appreciate the duality of us all simultaneously being a masterpiece and a work in progress. Approaching life from a place of love and non-judgement has become her guiding compass.

Her passion for wellness, or wholeness, includes a deep love for exploring relationships with food and connecting with folks who identify as having an addiction to sugar by bringing levity to conversations about/with the inner critic (who pretty much always has something to say about food choices).

Born into a white, able-bodied, middle-class family, Lisa navigates life with two of her biggest teachers - her teenagers - on the unceded lands of the Abenaki people in so-called Vermont.

Her favorite places are in the woods or by the water and feels honored and privileged to be part of this community of Edgewalkers and Heart Warriors.

  • Nina Fairland Kim

    SPIRITUAL SOMATICS COACH

Nina (she/her) came to this coalition while she was attending college at Champlain College in Burlington, VT. Coming from a Cuban-Korean background and living internationally as well as in several different states as a young child, her work and outlook on life is informed by her experience of managing and balancing the different cultures inside and around her.

After several on-and-off attempts to manage her mental health through traditional talk-therapy, she realized that this model was not a fit for her. She found much more personal growth and understanding through spiritual somatic teachings and the supportive community of Transformative Consciousness which allowed her to address many of the root causes of her mental health struggles that conventional methods could not.

Now attending law school, Nina envisions incorporating spiritual anchoring and somatic tools into her future holistic lawyering practice.

When she is not stressed out about law school, she enjoys singing, playing guitar, fiction writing, clay-sculpting and dog mom-ing.

Nina views coaching as being an "unni" or an older (or younger) sister to hold space for those seeking to become better versions of themselves and wanting to be a part of something larger without the restraints of dogma, judgment, or hierarchy.

She is excited to support and work with newcomers and her goal is to pay forward the help and support she received from the wonderful TC coaches before her.

  • Crystal Sorrell

    SPIRITUAL SOMATICS COACH

Crystal’s path collided with Trish’s when she was seeking to go deeper in her internal healing work. At that time, Crystal had spent years in talk therapy, was just beginning her yoga teacher training, and was looking for support in reconnecting with her body and releasing stuck trauma after years of dissociation patterns and numbing through substances. After five years of working with Trish, Crystal completed her Spiritual Somatics Practitioner training.

Crystal’s offerings and the spaces she holds are rooted in honoring the wisdom of the body. As a spiritual somatic practitioner, yoga instructor, sound practitioner, energy worker (Reiki and tuning forks), yoga teacher mentor, and sacred space holder, she walks alongside others on their journey of awakening. Helping folks uncover and transmute limiting beliefs, release density and process through trauma that they may be consciously or unconciously carrying, to support them in remembering their gifts, their magic and their unique wholeness. Through her compassionate presence, she creates a supportive space for individuals to connect with their inner guidance, embody their innate wholeness, and live with greater clarity and heart-centered awareness.

Aside from her soul work and continuing education, Crystal loves spending time with her love, Falcor, swimming in the ocean, hiking in the forest, connecting with her sisters, and relaxing with a good book.

You can learn more about Crystal’s magic by joining a monthly yoga class through ITC or visiting her website: crystalsorrell.com

  • Lexi Welborn

Lexi (she/her) was born into a lower class white family and raised on the Kona side of the Big Island of Hawaii. Growing up Lexi dealt with parents with alcohol and substance abuse issues and a lack of any spirituality or faith due to generational religious trauma.
Lexi began dealing with severe anxiety in her early 20s and found a confrontational cognitive behavioral therapist that helped her work through feelings of unworthiness stemming from childhood. Thru healing part of herself she realized she wanted to help others and she became a Registered Nurse in 2018. Lexi subsequently worked the front lines of the COVID pandemic, where she began the work of finding faith in order to make sense of the daily tragedy she was witnessing. This started a process of theological and philosophical awakening that provided her nursing career with deeper meaning and purpose. This also started her on a path of holistic healing and learning to heal herself because she had witnessed the ways that western medicine often does more harm than good.
After losing her brother a few years ago she traveled back home to the Big Island of Hawaii to grieve, on the flight home her and her husband, Ben, listened to Electric Body Electric Health by Eileen Day McKusick. This led us to finding Trish who was the only practitioner on the Big Island. This meeting started us on the path that had been waiting for us, leading us to learn Biofield Tuning and Reiki, to start serious meditation practices and learn the depth of the art of somatic healing.
Her passion for healing the entire body, mind, and soul has led to empathetically helping others to see their own abilities to heal themselves by making informed choices about what they consume whether that be food, media, or relationships. She listens to those who come to her with an open and understanding heart.

  • Benjamin Jordan

Ben (he/him) observes life through the vessel of a white male, born to a lower class family in Indiana that was avoidant of discussions of spirituality or religion. While his parents worked multiple jobs Ben spent his childhood being raised by powerful great aunts and grandmothers who helped shape his perspective and imbued him with a deep sense of the power of women. While moving homes and schools often throughout his younger years he learned to walk different paths depending on what his situation called for.

At the age of 18 his family chose to move to the Big Island of Hawaii for his father’s job and he took the opportunity to go with them. While on the island he discovered the meaning of community and Aloha and credits this time with raising him in to an empathetic and compassionate person who can witness and hold space for people in all walks of life.
As an adult Ben studied theology and philosophy while trying to make sense of his place in the world. After a year of loss in which he experienced losing both of his grandfathers hours apart due to entirely separate events, and months later losing his brother-in-law and his great uncle he travelled with his wife, Lexi, back to the Big Island of Hawaii. On the flight over Ben chose a book that changed the path of their lives, and through that book found Trish. During his first encounter with her, Ben had a profound experience of healing and started a friendship that led him down the path of learning to be a Biofield tuner, becoming an ordained minister and learning Reiki. He has since expanded his knowledge of theology, as well as diving deeply in to spirituality, etymology, and holistic and somatic healing.

  • Jennifer Ann

Jennifer is an edgewalker and magic maker, walking the places where endings and beginnings blur. A woman who listens—to the body, to the land, and to what lives beneath the surface, where most people don’t stay long.

Rooted in her connection to nature—her favorite church—you’ll find her there whenever she can be, remembering what’s real and bringing that back into the work. Her current chosen ground is held in upstate New York, where forest, water, and season shape the rhythm of what she offers.

A Licensed Massage Therapist, Jennifer works within a multidimensional field, weaving intuitive bodywork, spiritual somatics, biofield tuning, frequency work, myofascial techniques, Reiki, and master-level Integrated Energy Therapy—as both practitioner and teacher. Her work meets you at the threshold—the place where patterns break, truth surfaces, and something more aligned begins to take shape.

This is not surface-level work. It asks for honesty. For willingness. For the kind of presence that actually changes things.

Sessions are offered in person and remotely for those who feel the call.

Jennifer also creates handcrafted, plant-centered offerings and ritual tools, available through her website, and is honored to share her work and offerings in collaboration with Transformative Consciousness.
